maybe one of these days i’ll wake up and be a student at the twin peaks high school.

Please take me along in that dreamworld…

“I’m so odd, and I’m so limited, and I’m so different from the ordinary human being—so you say. I have a strong suspicion that I’m the simplest of you all, and that its my extreme transparency that baffles you. I dont think I ever feel anything but the most ordinary emotions.”

So expectant.

Where is this woman? I need her.

“Every once in a while on a crowded New York City sidewalk, a puff of sadness will float off a stranger and hit me like a cloud of too-strong cologne. Whether it’s coming from a deliveryman with ice caked to the back of his bike or from a man with an overly starched white collar, it only lasts as long as it takes us to pass each other.”

“Is he cute… or does he just have a beard?”

Today marks one year since I took my barber’s license test and never looked back on my decision to sign up for barber college. It hasn’t been an easy journey and I’m nowhere near being where I want to be with barbering, but as I tell nearly everyone who sits in my chair, “the journey is the reward,” — a saying I’ve kept with me since sophomore year of high school (all from a random sticker on a gym locker.) There’s been a lot of ups and downs within this past year, and I’m sure there will be more as the years go by, but I wouldn’t have it any other way… Big thanks for everyone who has supported this journey: from friends to the homies I’ve made through barber college, the barbers I’ve met so far along the way, and all of my previous and current clients. No where where I wanna be quite yet, but all of you have made an impact and push me to become a better barber… And of course, big thanks to the homie @scavenger1160 for riding with me since the hot rod show in Burlingame a few years ago and becoming a homie I can count on, and being my state board model. It’s not every day you can say that some of the most dependable individuals you know come from a blog… Well, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some and continue to meet em… Now the question is… What’s happened to my pomp?

Everybody congratulate my barber’s one-year anniversary of cutting hair and making guys look great by following him.  Do. It. Now.
